Throughout history, cultures worldwide have been captivated by tales of wild, man-like beasts lurking in their midst. The North American Sasquatch and the Himalayan Yeti are among the most renowned, embodying the concept of the ‘wild man’. But these giants of legend are merely the tip of the iceberg. From the dense forests of Sumatra's Orang Pendek to the Almas of Mongolian folklore, and from Singapore's Bukit Timah Monkey Man to the Yeh Ren of China, these tales weave a rich tapestry of mystery and intrigue.
Do you think there is a possibility that these legends began when early Homo sapiens first left Africa and bumped into Neanderthals and Denisovans in Europe and Asia?
Well said, were these non Homo Sapient beings part of other ancient folk lore such as Trolls, dwarfs, goblins? More food for thought, since there are pyramids found all over the globe I wonder if these beings and possibly other types of still unknown fossil Humans all once co existed on one super continent Pangea?
We know they coexisted because we have Neanderthal and Denisovan genes. Also we could have met both “good” and “bad” Homo species (cf bonobos and chimps), explaining the good and bad creatures of folklore.
Interesting reply although Bonobos/chimps , ( homininae PAN ) are both close relatives of Humans they are not part of the genus "Homo" , which are an odd bunch when compared to other Primates.
Actually both critters are good, it's just one is more aggressive and hunt for meat whereas the bonobos not so much. Early members of our own genus like Pan troglodytes (Chimps), probably preferred to scavenge/hunt anything they could get.

Yes I know. It’s just that bonobos are seen as good and chimps as bad. Maybe our homo cousins were too.
