So true ,but not understood the in mixture of religions that we have been indoctrinated into all our lives. Only when we break the chains that hold us by threat of punishment can we really look around for a way out. Enlightenment is the sought after threshold that will set your self conscious to a new level. Then your mind will be enabled to experience the ALL THAT IS . You will then live in a state of peace. His teachings are not a set of rules or else but rather a way to achieve the next higher level of consciousness.
Breaking those chains is the work of a lifetime, but ancient wisdom offers three keys:
The Stoic Distinction: You cannot control the 'threats' others place on us, but you have absolute sovereignty over your internal response.
The Zoroastrian Choice: Every time you act from truth despite fear, you are choosing the Light. The chain loses power when your integrity matters more than the punishment.
The Buddhist 'Pause': Threats only work because we 'cling' to a specific outcome. When we begin to let go of that attachment, the threat has nothing left to grab onto.
I know it sounds easy but it is not! It’s a journey of small, brave choices but you aren't alone in this!
I have studied this for about 50 years. Suggest the book by Dr Maurice Bucke. It is titled Cosmic Consciousness and available on Amazon. The Black one was and is possibly available now. It os clear and is available in later editions with annotations from others with the Illumination but his original is the one I first read and given copies to others. Our modern state of religion is a man made with threats of punishment after death if we transgress against their teachings but promises of mansions in the sky if you support them. Would your spirit need a mansion? To start the nook I would go toward the back to the section devoted to the accounts of those who recorder the epiphanys. That will be the change. After that they were free. Don't expect to learn how it happened but it did. The knowledge surrounds you always and is also within you all the time. The rest of us are not yet developed enough to receive. It is ,and always has been there but our minds are clouded with the hum of false prophets. It is a long search with many who will demean your efforts.
